In the modern day of "netflix and chill", everyone and their mother has a Netflix account. Less and less people are using diaries, or writing down what we do or feel with a pen and paper and not a 180 character limit. Today, what we've recently watched on Netflix is our diary. It tells us who we are, what we've been feeling lately, and what we are thinking. People today don't write in journals or diaries anymore, to the youngest generation it is now a foreign concept. To them, this would be one of the new diaries, and one where you can't @ anyone or cause drama, only watch it.
For example, my recently watched Netflix includes: To Catch A Thief, Orange is the New Black, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, The Borgias, Sixteen Candles, Gossip Girl and Friends. This can easily tell you I am a history nerd who's into classic movies and loves to laugh. You can also figure out that I have probably been feeling very hopeless romantic-esque, scared and/or in need of a hug. One look at anyone's Recently Watched is private. It's like you're sharing you're inner-most feelings and thoughts. Netlflix has been taking over the world since 1997, first Blockbuster then the world. And now, you're new journal, Netflix.
